Located by the pristine Chitose River and right next to Manyo Park, KOGAKURE YUGAWARA is a serene private sanctuary reserved exclusively for you or your party, designed for quiet reflection and deep focus.

There is no TV. There is good Wi-Fi. And there is time to simply be.   Surrounded by the natural sound of flowing water, it is an ideal space to disconnect from screen noise and focus deeply on reading, writing, or resting in our private study nook.

While the house is entirely yours during your stay.  Our bilingual local concierge team is nearby whenever you need us - from restaurant reservations amd local recommendations to helping you discover the lesser-known corners of Yugawara.

The Charm of Yugawara & Manyo Park

KOGAKURE YUGAWARA is located right next to Manyo Park, a tranquil forest reserve at the heart of Yugawara Onsen. Surrounded by lush greenery, pure mountain streams, and waterfalls, it offers a serene escape nestled at the southern foot of Mount Hakone.

Situated right between Hakone and Atami, Yugawara offers the perfect balance: easy access to famous sightseeing spots, yet insulated in its own peaceful, authentic Japanese hot spring atmosphere. Within a short walk, you can explore Soyu Terrace—a refined sanctuary combining nature trails, and literature.

Getting Here

From Tokyo Station (Approx. 60–75 mins):

Take the JR Tokaido Shinkansen to Atami Station, then transfer to the JR Tokaido Line to Yugawara Station (60 mins).

Or take the direct JR "Odoriko" Limited Express train to Yugawara Station (75 mins).

From Yokohama Station (Approx. 45–60 mins):

Take the direct JR Tokaido Line or "Odoriko" Limited Express to Yugawara Station.

From Yugawara Station to KOGAKURE YUGAWARA

Take the local bus bound for Fudotaki or Oku-Yugawara from Yugawara Station to Ochaibashi bus stop (approx. 15 mins), followed by a short walk.

From Atami: Just 1 train stop away (5 mins) or 15 mins by taxi.

From Hakone (Lake Ashi): Approx. 25–30 mins by car via scenic mountain roads.
