Having spent more than half of my life living overseas, I chose Yugawara as my permanent home base in Japan.

Having experienced diverse cultures and environments across the globe, I instantly recognized the rare, authentic value of this land: crisp mountain air, pristine spring water, historic thermal hot springs, and above all, a liberating atmosphere where you can escape daily pressures and breathe freely.

I created KOGAKURE YUGAWARA as a sanctuary nestled in the heart of Yugawara's historic hot spring district—a place offering a complete, undisturbed reset for everyone who seeks a deep sense of freedom, regardless of where they come from.

Here, you can immerse yourself in the natural seclusion of the valley while remaining just steps away from local cafes, hot springs, and the lush walks of Manyo Park.

Surrounded by the natural rhythm of the Chitose River, I invite you to brew tea using Yugawara’s pure spring water, leave screens behind, and fully reclaim your inner balance.
